Kameron Johnson began her dance training in classical ballet at The School of Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, OH,where she’s from originally. Johnson moved to Chicago, IL to pursue her education and career in dance, where she graduated from Columbia College Chicago, and received a BA in dance performance and marketing communications. Eight years in Chicago has morphed Johnson’s style of dance from traditional to unconventional—inspiring Johnson to embody contemporary, post modern, modern movement expressions and explore deeper into her artistry as a dance performer. This new movement discovery has allowed Johnson to experience performance opportunities with countless masters and companies in the Chicagoland. She has trained, performed, and collaborated works with dancers and choreographers such as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Zoe Scofield from Zoe Juniper, Wilfredo Rivera from the Cirque Rivera Dance Company, Paige Cunningham-Calderella from Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Carrie Hanson from The Seldoms, Meghann Wilkinson from Lucky Plush, and Erin Kilmurray from The Fly Honeys. Johnson has also taught master classes for the adult and youth programs at The Joffrey Ballet and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Recently moved to Phoenix, AZ, Johnson wishes to continue to share her experiences with the community, in hopes to influence and inspire new movement explorations through dance.
